Take your nursing expertise to the forefront of educational care by serving as a Licensed School Nurse for an innovative district in the greater Saint Paul, MN area. This contract role offers a rewarding opportunity to support student health and well-being across five schools during the academic year, impacting a diverse group of learners and staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Minnesota
- Possess a Public Health Nurse License
- Hold a School Nurse License granted by the Minnesota Board of Teaching
- Valid, current CPR and BLS certifications
- Previous experience in school nursing or a comparable pediatric health setting is highly valued
- Strong organizational and communication skills for itinerant, districtwide service
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care and provide first aid to students and staff throughout the school district
- Oversee, coordinate, and maintain student health records and immunization compliance for five school sites
- Develop, implement, and monitor individual healthcare plans for students with medical needs
- Offer health education and act as a health resource for staff, students, and families
- Conduct screenings and manage follow-ups for vision, hearing, and other health assessments
- Support emergency response planning and safety initiatives within the schools
- Serve as the key liaison between families, school personnel, and community healthcare providers
