Qualifications & Experience

  • Current RN license in good standing (Minnesota or compact state)
  • Experience in pediatric and/or school nursing, particularly 1:1 care
  • Ability to work effectively with students in 1st through 5th and 9th through 10th grades
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, especially in a school-based setting
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities for documenting care and collaborating with the educational team
  • Familiarity with individualized health care plans (IHPs) and emergency response protocols
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to varied student needs

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized nursing care and monitoring for designated students, providing support for daily health needs, chronic conditions, and emergencies
  • Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and allied staff to adapt care plans for changing needs
  • Educate students and staff about health maintenance, disease prevention, and wellness topics as appropriate
  • Participate in development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when applicable
