Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Previous experience within a school setting or as a school nurse is highly preferred
- Proficiency and confidence in seizure management and related protocols
- Experience providing 1:1 nursing care, ideally with pediatric populations
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with students, staff, and families
- Willingness to ride the school bus with the student to ensure safety and continuity of care
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized nursing care to an elementary student during the entire school day, including on school transportation
- Monitor and respond promptly to health needs and emergencies—especially seizure activity
- Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate health records in accordance with school and legal guidelines
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to support the student’s educational and health goals
- Foster a supportive, safe, and welcoming environment for the student at school and during transportation
