School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Sanostee, New Mexico

Step into a dynamic and impactful nursing role serving students near Sanostee, NM, within a contract position spanning across three schools—two high schools and one elementary school—with a caseload of 659 students. This opportunity calls for a registered nurse with a strong background in school-based health to deliver high-quality care, provide leadership, and foster a safe learning environment.

As the main nursing professional across these schools, you’ll travel between sites, coordinating with educational and health staff to ensure each student’s needs are met. You’ll supervise three dedicated health aides and collaborate with Special Education and crisis response teams, playing a meaningful part in the school’s holistic approach to health and safety.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license required
• Experience in school nursing or pediatric settings preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple locations efficiently
• Ability to supervise and mentor health aides
• Skilled in emergency preparedness, crisis response, and individualized student care planning

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct health services to students as needed—first aid, chronic condition management, medication administration
• Supervise, train, and support three health aides, ensuring thoughtful student care at all sites
• Participate actively in Special Education meetings, health plans, and crisis response initiatives
• Maintain accurate health records and promote preventative health initiatives across all campuses
• Work full-time, 37.5-hour weeks aligned with student schedules, through May 27, 2027
