Registered Nurse School Setting - Skokie, IL

Step into a vital role supporting high school students with complex medical needs in a collaborative educational environment. We're seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a contract opportunity, working day shifts from 7:30am to 3:45pm (lunch included). You'll join an established team, providing care for up to 13 medically fragile students—currently, there are six students on your caseload—with support from other nursing staff on-site.

Your expertise will be essential in responding to health emergencies, administering skilled procedures, and creating a safe, nurturing space so that every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care and monitor medically fragile students throughout the school day
• Respond swiftly and calmly to crisis situations and emergency medical needs
• Perform skilled medical interventions, including but not limited to g-tube feedings and medication administration
• Collaborate with fellow nurses, school staff, and families to develop individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate health records and ensure all documentation is compliant with regulatory standards
• Support health education, staff training, and promote wellness initiatives within the school

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (preferred)
• Strong background in crisis response, emergency care, and medical procedures
• Demonstrated understanding of the needs of medically fragile students
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
