A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is needed to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support for a first-grade student with developmental delays in a self-contained classroom. This contract position runs from January through May 22, 2026, and is based in an elementary school setting in Smiths Station, AL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care tailored to the specific health needs of a first-grade student.
  • Monitor and manage daily health requirements, medications, and emergency protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with educators and school staff to support the student's well-being and classroom integration.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with healthcare providers and families.
  • Provide flexible support, including floating to other school buildings as needed when the assigned student is absent.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; ICU experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical skills paired with excellent communication and adaptability within a school environment.
  • Ability to commit to a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, typically 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced educational setting and responding to the changing needs of students.
