Step into a rewarding contract opportunity providing essential care to a high school student with Diabetes Insipidus from August 26th through June 15th. This full-time onsite role offers 35 hours per week, centered around supporting one student at a specialized educational facility. You'll play a vital part in ensuring the student's well-being and school success in a 1:1 caseload, collaborating closely with educators and care teams.
Your schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Consistency and reliability are key—no accommodations can be made to adjust this structure.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license and nurse certification
- Prior school-based nursing experience
- Proficiency in supporting students with complex medical needs
- Valid, reliable transportation for daily commute
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary setting
- Ability to commit to the specified schedule without flexibility
Core Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure correct fluid intake individualized for Diabetes Insipidus management
- Assist student with mobility and safe restroom access (student uses a wheelchair, ambulates with help, but manages toileting independently)
- Administer a noon medication dose and monitor for signs of sodium imbalances
- Collaborate with educational and clinical staff to optimize student safety and participation
- Begin and end the day on-site, meeting and supporting the student as needed at the school
