An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse to support a young student with complex medical needs throughout the upcoming academic year, working on-site within a school environment. You’ll play a vital role in providing daily medical care and support to a 3-year-old student diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD), requiring specialized attention and compassionate care.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in New Jersey
  • School nursing experience preferred
  • Strong pediatric nursing background required
  • Experience with NG-tube management (not G-tube)
  • Comfortable lifting and transporting a non-ambulatory child (~24 lbs)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Ability to manage medical needs calmly and professionally in a school setting

Role Highlights:

  • Oversee and manage daily nursing care for a non-ambulatory student during school hours (8am–3pm, approximately 35 hours per week)
  • Safely administer tube feedings and maintain NG-tube, closely monitoring the student’s overall health
  • Support student transport to and from school by bus, providing needed medical supervision during transit
  • Collaborate with teachers, aides, and other school staff to foster a safe, supportive environment
  • Document care and communicate regularly with family members and school teams to ensure continuity of care

The contract runs from early September through late June, offering a consistent weekday schedule aligned with the school year calendar.
