An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse to support a young student with complex medical needs throughout the upcoming academic year, working on-site within a school environment. You’ll play a vital role in providing daily medical care and support to a 3-year-old student diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD), requiring specialized attention and compassionate care.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- School nursing experience preferred
- Strong pediatric nursing background required
- Experience with NG-tube management (not G-tube)
- Comfortable lifting and transporting a non-ambulatory child (~24 lbs)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to manage medical needs calmly and professionally in a school setting
Role Highlights:
- Oversee and manage daily nursing care for a non-ambulatory student during school hours (8am–3pm, approximately 35 hours per week)
- Safely administer tube feedings and maintain NG-tube, closely monitoring the student’s overall health
- Support student transport to and from school by bus, providing needed medical supervision during transit
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and other school staff to foster a safe, supportive environment
- Document care and communicate regularly with family members and school teams to ensure continuity of care
The contract runs from early September through late June, offering a consistent weekday schedule aligned with the school year calendar.
