School Registered Nurse (RN) in South Amboy, NJ

A school near South Amboy, NJ seeks a skilled Registered Nurse to provide one-on-one care to a medically fragile student while covering a fellow RN’s vacation in early October 2026.

Your role will focus on ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health support during the student’s school day. You’ll accompany the student to and from school by bus each day (Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00–8:15 AM to 3:30 PM), ensuring attentive supervision and expert assistance. Responsibilities center around in-person nursing care, including G-tube management and continuous observation.

Key Qualifications:

• Active New Jersey RN license
• Prior experience in a school nursing setting highly preferred
• Demonstrated expertise supporting medically fragile children, including G-tube care
• Reliable, communicative, and child-centered approach to nursing
• Able to work exclusively in-person—virtual service is not an option for this assignment
• Comfortable with daily bus riding and following school schedules

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide vigilant 1:1 care for a student with complex medical needs throughout the school day
• Manage and administer G-tube feedings and medication as required
• Monitor health status and communicate with school personnel and family as needed
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment on the school bus and in all school settings
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential nursing documentation
