School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | South Portland, Maine

A summer opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse to support Extended School Year (ESY) programming in an educational setting near South Portland, ME. In this full-time, contracted position, you’ll provide critical health services and compassionate care for students in a school environment. The schedule offers a work-life balance with Monday through Thursday hours from 8:30am to 2:30pm, and Fridays from 8:30am to 12:30pm, totaling 28 hours weekly throughout the summer months.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active RN license in the state of Maine
• Experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations highly preferred
• Strong assessment, communication, and clinical skills
• Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations
• Effective collaborator with teachers, parents, and school staff
• Current CPR and First Aid certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily healthcare support to students according to individual health plans and school protocols
• Administer medications and medical treatments as prescribed
• Address minor illnesses and injuries with prompt, appropriate care
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school requirements
• Promote wellness, infection control, and a safe learning environment for all students
• Serve as a liaison between families, school staff, and healthcare providers
• Participate in planning and implementing individualized health and safety plans as needed
