If you're an experienced Registered Nurse interested in making an impact on the next generation of healthcare professionals, a unique opportunity awaits working with high school students enrolled in a Nurse Assisting (Nurse Aide) course. This per diem, contract role offers flexible hours in the mornings (8 to 10 am) and afternoons (12 to 2 pm), beginning as soon as possible with duration to be confirmed.
As the clinical Registered Nurse, you’ll play a critical role in nurturing both skills and confidence in aspiring CNAs during their on-the-job learning experiences. Your expertise will guide students through hands-on training, ensuring a strong foundation for their future careers.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the creation and implementation of valuable clinical experiences for Nurse Assisting students
- Developing and coordinating clinical instruction schedules alongside the classroom teacher
- Directly supervising students in an 8:1 ratio during clinical sessions, providing mentorship and oversight
- Liaising with agency personnel regarding all clinical experience facets
- Assessing and evaluating student progress in clinical tasks
- Supporting the Nurse Aide Teacher with other related duties as assigned
To thrive in this role, candidates should have:
- A New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Current or qualifying status for the Civil Service title of School Nurse
- Direct experience in long-term care or nursing home settings
- Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively support young learners
