A contract position is available for a Registered Nurse to provide 1:1 support to an elementary student in Moravia, NY, with services extending to surrounding areas near Syracuse, NY. This role requires a dedicated RN to work Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 2:30/3:00 PM. Nurses may leave at 2:30 PM if all responsibilities are completed, while still receiving full-day pay, including a duty-free lunch period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to a non-verbal first-grade student with a tracheostomy, including monitoring, cleaning, and suctioning.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as feeding.
  • Offer academic support to the student during the school day.
  • Supervise the student during elective classes when they leave special education settings.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment; no aggressive behaviors are reported for this student.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with experience in school nursing or pediatric settings.
  • Ability to perform tracheostomy care and suctioning confidently.
  • Experience with 1:1 nursing in educational environments preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills are highly desirable to support communication and engagement.
