In this dynamic school environment, you'll assist in the health office, administer student medications, and conduct state-mandated hearing and vision screenings for specified grade levels. Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license in California required
- Experience or familiarity with school nursing settings preferred
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to clear a criminal background check and a TB risk assessment within 60 days of start date
- Willingness to serve as a designated mandated child abuse reporter, in alignment with California legal requirements
Responsibilities:
- Support daily operations in the school health office
- Administer and document medications and treatments to students per physician orders
- Conduct and record results for state-required hearing and vision screenings at appropriate grade levels
- Monitor student health concerns and respond to medical needs as they arise
- Collaborate closely with school administrators, staff, and parents to promote a healthy learning environment
- Maintain accurate health records in compliance with state and district guidelines
