You’ll use your clinical expertise to address health concerns, administer medications, and carry out important health screenings.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Prior experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Ability to complete a criminal background check and TB risk assessment within 60 days prior to the assignment
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, child-centered approach
- Must serve as a mandated reporter of child abuse according to California law
- Organizational skills to document and manage health information and medication logs
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the health office and provide first aid to students and staff as needed
- Administer student medications in compliance with physician instructions and school policy
- Conduct state-mandated hearing and vision screenings for students at designated grade levels
- Communicate with students, families, and staff regarding health plans and health education needs
- Maintain up-to-date records and comply with all district, state, and legal requirements
- Participate in wellness initiatives and respond to emergencies or urgent health concerns
