Registered Nurse School Setting - Wake Forest, NC

A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care within a middle school setting in Wake Forest, NC. This role involves managing the health needs of a student with a tracheostomy, requiring expertise in tracheostomy care, health evaluations, and individualized health planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care and health assessments for students, focusing on those with complex medical needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Health Plans (IHP) or Plans of Care (POC).
• Provide supervision and collaborate effectively with family members and nursing or medical staff.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school and healthcare regulations.
• Respond promptly to health emergencies and advocate for student health and safety.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure; LPN candidates will not be considered.
• Experience working as a school nurse with an understanding of school health policies.
• Specialized training and experience in tracheostomy care.
• Ability to perform thorough health evaluations and assessments.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Location & Schedule:

• Wake Forest, NC
• Middle school environment
• Full-time contract position, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours/week
• Contract duration: current school year through June 9, 2026
