A healthcare professional with a strong background in school nursing is needed to provide specialized care for medically fragile students in a school setting in Warren, MI. This full-time, contract opportunity runs through the 2026-2027 school year, offering a 35-hour workweek focused on delivering compassionate and individualized nursing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to students with complex medical needs, including tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tube management, seizure monitoring, lifting, and toileting assistance.
- Manage 1:1 or small caseloads, ensuring health protocols are followed and students’ medical needs are met effectively within the school environment.
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student well-being and safety throughout the school day.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
- Minimum of two years of experience in school nursing or a similar setting.
- Ability to handle specialized medical procedures related to trach care, g-tubes, seizures, and other complex healthcare needs.
