An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled Registered Nurse to make a meaningful impact working across multiple school sites. This contract role is onsite, covering the academic year from early August to early June, and offers a chance to support students of all ages in a dynamic educational environment.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current, active RN license in good standing
- Prior nursing experience in a pediatric, school health, or community setting strongly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act and pediatric care procedures
- Ability to work independently while multitasking in a fast-paced school environment
- Comfort with an itinerant schedule; willingness to travel between assigned elementary and secondary schools
- Strong organizational skills for recordkeeping and medical supply management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform specialized nursing procedures in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act
- Conduct initial and routine student health screenings (height, weight, vision, hearing, scoliosis), refer students as needed, and follow up with families and healthcare providers
- Provide emergency nursing care for acute injury, illness, and urgent health needs for both students and staff
- Manage and order medical office supplies to maintain efficient operations
- Monitor, verify, and document immunization records and communicable disease status to ensure state compliance
- Offer routine care and address both urgent and day-to-day health requests on campus
- Safely administer medications with proper permissions, following written medical and parental instructions
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, 30-33 hours per week
- Elementary: M-F, 8:30am–3:15pm
- Secondary: M-F, 7:30am–2:15pm
