School Registered Nurse | West New York, New Jersey

Step into a meaningful role supporting a young student with specialized medical needs in an educational setting. This full-time, onsite contract position near West New York, NJ offers the opportunity to be an essential part of a kindergarten student’s daily success and well-being within a caring school environment. You’ll work 35-37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:50/8am to 3pm, providing one-on-one nursing care to a medically fragile, wheelchair-bound student who needs expert and compassionate support.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN or LPN/LVN license in New Jersey
• School nursing experience strongly preferred
• Solid background in working with medically fragile pediatric populations
• Proficient in g-tube care and medication administration
• Comfortable managing the health needs of students in a classroom and school bus environment
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized nursing care for one kindergarten student throughout the school day, including during bus rides to and from school
• Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in health status
• Administer medications and manage g-tube feedings as ordered
• Ensure safe transfer and mobility for a wheelchair-bound student
• Keep clear records of all care and interventions provided
• Serve as a health advocate and resource for school staff and the student’s family

This role is available ASAP and continues through the end of the school year, with a strong possibility to extend into the Extended School Year (ESY) assignment for the same student.
