School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Wheaton, Illinois

Make an immediate impact in the life of a young learner as a part-time Registered Nurse, supporting a preschool student with significant medical needs. This contract opportunity runs from August 18, 2026, through May 28, 2027, providing consistent weekday afternoon hours from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday. You’ll work closely in a 1:1 setting, meeting the student at their residence, accompanying them to and from school by bus, and delivering care throughout the school day.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Illinois (required)
• Demonstrated experience with G-tubes, tracheostomies, and ventilators in pediatric or similar settings
• Prior critical care background strongly preferred
• Submission must include your IL RN license/certification and an up-to-date resume
• Reliable personal transportation to and from the student’s home
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed medical protocols
• Compassionate, professional demeanor and ability to build rapport with children and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 nursing support to a preschool student with a G-tube, trach, and ventilator
• Safely manage and monitor the student during transportation and throughout the school day
• Administer prescribed medications and perform routine and emergency interventions as needed
• Maintain thorough communication with caregivers and educational staff
• Ensure a seamless medical and educational environment for the student each day
