Required Skills and Experience:
- Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Maine
- Prior experience as a school nurse or in pediatric nursing strongly preferred
- Proficiency with tracheostomy care and emergency response protocols
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and faculty
- Adaptability and compassion for young learners in a classroom setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 nursing care and support to a kindergarten student throughout the school day
- Monitor health status and respond promptly to changes or needs, especially in relation to trach care
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with education staff and parents to ensure a safe, inclusive classroom experience
- Provide education and instruction as appropriate to school staff on basic student health needs
- Uphold all school policies and state regulations regarding student privacy and safety
