Exciting part-time opportunity for a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a vibrant pre-school student near Worcester, MA! This contract position starts as soon as possible and extends through June 30, 2026, with summer work available and the option for renewal for the following school year.
This unique role involves providing expert care for a lively 3-year-old student who has a tracheostomy and occasionally requires a ventilator when ill. You’ll play a crucial role in their daily routine, riding with the student in a van before and after school on Mondays and Fridays. All work is conducted onsite at the Blocks pre-school, allowing you to directly impact the child’s safety and well-being in a supportive educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN or LPN license in Massachusetts (MA)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is required
- Comfortable providing care for medically complex children, including tracheostomy and ventilator management
- Ability and willingness to complete CORI and Fingerprinting background checks
- Proficient with communication and documentation
- Open exclusively to RN and LPN candidates (not accepting CNAs or medical assistants)
Duties Include:
- Escorting a student with medical needs on school transport
- Monitoring and managing tracheostomy/ventilator as needed
- Implementing care plans and responding appropriately during transit and on-site
- Collaborating with school personnel and families to ensure optimal student support
