Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' health and well-being in an engaging school environment. This full-time, onsite role involves 30-33 hours per week, running from August 2026 to June 2027. As an itinerant professional, you'll travel between elementary and secondary school sites each week, ensuring every student has access to quality healthcare services.
Your typical days will align with school schedules: 8:30am-3:15pm at elementary schools and 7:30am-2:15pm at secondary schools, Monday through Friday. Your expertise and compassion will play a vital role in the lives of students and staff alike.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with experience working in school settings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the Nurse Practice Act and specialized nursing procedures
- Ability to conduct routine health screenings and respond swiftly in emergency situations
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Comfort with a flexible, mobile workday, as you'll serve multiple sites
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with educators, families, and healthcare professionals
Responsibilities Include:
- Performing health screenings such as vision, hearing, height, weight, and scoliosis assessments
- Referring students for further evaluation and following up as needed
- Delivering emergency nursing care to students and staff for illness, injury, or acute health concerns
- Ordering and managing medical office supplies efficiently
- Monitoring immunization records and communicable disease status to ensure legal compliance
- Administering prescribed medications safely in accordance with legal requirements
- Providing routine healthcare and responding to daily health-related requests
