Supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth is essential in K-12 education. This role offers the opportunity to provide psychological services within an elementary and middle school setting, focusing on psychoeducational evaluations, counseling, and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings.
Location: Aberdeen and Elkton, Maryland
Contract Details:
- Duration: Current School Year (CSY) contract, starting ASAP through approximately June 12
- Hours per week: 37.5
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; Elementary hours 8:15 AM–3:45 PM; Secondary hours 7:30 AM–3:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments to identify student needs
- Provide counseling services tailored to individual student requirements
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team (MTSS), IEP, and 504 meetings
- Manage a caseload averaging around 70 evaluations and ongoing counseling support, with variability depending on referrals
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and external agencies to support student success
Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) school psychology certification
- Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and providing counseling services in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, processes, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to manage caseload efficiently and prioritize student needs
- Preferred in-person engagement; hybrid or fully virtual candidates may be considered but in-person work is strongly desired
