Step into a dynamic environment supporting K-12 students as a School Psychologist in a contract position near Albany, NY. This full-time opportunity (40 hours per week) extends through the end of the school year, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact districtwide across multiple school sites. Acting as a key resource for the district, you'll primarily facilitate Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, ensuring that student support teams operate efficiently and collaboratively. In addition to these essential meetings, you’ll engage in other school psychologist tasks such as conducting evaluations and providing expert insights on student needs.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience across K-12 grade levels preferred
- Familiarity with conducting and participating in CSE meetings
- Strong knowledge of evaluation and assessment tools for school settings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and organizational skills to manage districtwide caseloads
Role Responsibilities:
- Cover and organize primarily CSE meetings across multiple district school sites
- Complete necessary evaluations and testing as needed for student support plans
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records and prepare required reports
- Provide consultative support for staff and parents to ensure best practices in student welfare
