A contracted opportunity is available for a licensed school psychologist in Albuquerque, NM, with a focus on providing essential psychological services within a school setting. This role supports Extended School Year (ESY) counseling beginning June 1, 2026, with potential continuation through the 2026–2027 school year.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing counseling services to students during ESY and the regular school year.
  • Conducting psychoeducational evaluations to determine Special Education eligibility and Gifted and Talented program qualification.
  • Maintaining accurate service logs and documentation in compliance with requirements.
  • Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contributing professional psychological insight.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and offering general psychological support to foster a positive school environment.

Ideal qualifications and experience:

  • Current psychologist license.
  • Proven experience in conducting psychological and educational evaluations.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and special education procedures.
  • Familiarity with or openness to working within the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) system.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to manage evaluations, documentation, and compliance effectively.

Time commitment details:

  • ESY counseling services in June 2026 require availability approximately one day per week for about four hours.
  • During the 2026–2027 school year (August 2026–June 2027), services will be needed 2–3 days per week, approximately six hours per day.
