Key Qualifications:

  • Active and valid certification/licensure as a School Psychologist (as required by New York State)
  • Prior experience in school-based psychological services, or strong internship/practicum training
  • Proficient in conducting psycho-educational assessments and interpreting data
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to foster relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to travel between two school districts as part of your weekly schedule

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive psychological evaluations for students, including cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral assessments
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of IEPs and behavioral intervention plans
  • Act as a resource for teachers, staff, and families regarding student learning and emotional concerns
  • Consult with classroom teachers regarding interventions and provide guidance for at-risk students
  • Participate in or lead meetings related to special education eligibility, placement, and student progress
  • Support crisis intervention efforts and deliver counseling services as appropriate
