Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students from PreK through 8th grade as a school psychologist in a dynamic educational setting near Arlington Heights, IL. This in-person role spans the entire school year, from August 19, 2026, through June 2, 2027, and involves working a guaranteed 37.5-hour work week based on the school calendar. Daily start and end times may change depending on the specific school, such as intermediate schools (8:20 AM–3:55 PM) and middle schools (7:40 AM–3:15 PM).
Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist license required
- Experience with PreK–8th grade/elementary populations strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of assessment tools, intervention techniques, and IEP processes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families
- Organizational skills with the ability to adapt to varying school schedules and environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for students, interpreting results and providing actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Offer consultation and support to staff regarding behavioral, emotional, and academic needs of students
- Deliver direct and indirect student services, including counseling, social skills training, and crisis intervention
- Maintain accurate documentation, complying with all federal, state, and district policies
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary and IEP meetings
