The position involves varied caseloads, with duties centering on conducting re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, functional behavioral assessments, and some initial evaluations. You’ll engage with early childhood, elementary, and older students, participating actively in IEP meetings and collaborating with families, educators, and special education teams.
Key Qualifications:
- Active School Psychologist licensure in Illinois required
- Experience with elementary, middle, or high school populations
- Strong communication skills and commitment to clear, compassionate interactions with families and colleagues
- Thorough knowledge of special education law and best practices, particularly in early childhood evaluation
- Flexibility to travel between local preschools if assigned to early childhood caseload
- Ability to conduct assessments, facilitate meetings, and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Complete re-evaluations, eligibility determinations, and initial psychological evaluations
- Conduct functional behavioral assessments
- Serve as a resource in the IEP process, attending and facilitating meetings
- Collaborate closely with families who may be new to special education services
- Support MTSS data meetings (for K-4 assignments) and problem-solving processes
- Travel to multiple preschools as needed for early childhood assignments
