School Psychologist - Arvada, Colorado

Make an immediate impact by supporting the emotional, social, and behavioral growth of students in a dedicated educational environment. This contract opportunity is available at a specialized academy serving middle and high school students with complex behavioral and social/emotional needs. The assignment is full-time, running ASAP through the end of May 2027.

Key qualifications and skills:

• Valid CO DOE SSP (Special Service Provider) license with either School Psychologist or School Social Worker endorsement
• Experience supporting students in grades 6–12 with severe behavioral challenges (facility placements, day treatment, or similar settings strongly preferred)
• Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective supports
• Strong understanding of IEP-related processes, including conducting evaluations, attending meetings, and developing IEPs
• Capacity to maintain accurate documentation and comply with district credentialing, background checks, and fingerprinting requirements

What you’ll do:

• Deliver direct and indirect mental health services to students based on their IEPs (currently 23 students, up to 30 at max)
• Work collaboratively with program staff to address complex emotional and behavioral needs
• Conduct assessments, participate in IEP meetings, and support IEP development that helps students thrive academically and socially
• Serve as a resource for staff in developing strategies to manage behavioral challenges and foster a positive learning environment
• Provide crisis intervention support and help facilitate transition planning for students as needed
