Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ educational and emotional growth as a contract School Psychologist for the 2026-2027 academic year in the Winchester, VA area. Starting July 27th, 2026 and running through May 28th, 2027, this full-time position is set at 37.5 hours per week and offers the chance to impact the lives of students while collaborating closely with dedicated educators and staff.

You’ll help shape positive learning environments, providing direct and indirect psychological services to empower young learners. Your expertise will be valued as you assess needs, contribute to specialized education plans, and guide both students and school teams in evidence-based interventions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active and valid Virginia Psychologist License (VA Psych License)
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field
  • Direct school-based experience preferred
  • Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills
  • Familiarity with special education processes and IEP development
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work onsite throughout the school year

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies for academic, emotional, and behavioral issues
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
  • Participate in the IEP process, offering insights and recommendations
  • Provide crisis intervention and short-term counseling as needed
  • Help foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school climate
