As part of the Promising Students Program (PSP), you will work directly with students presenting intensive needs, offering comprehensive, trauma-informed services essential to their academic and personal success.

Your expertise in behavioral intervention, counseling, and psychological assessment will be instrumental in guiding students through challenges and helping educators create supportive environments. This role demands dedication, adaptability, and a passion for empowering young people to achieve their full potential through early intervention and evidence-based strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification as a School Psychologist
  • Strong background in behavioral and counseling practices
  • Proficient in conducting psychoeducational and behavioral assessments
  • Experience developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Familiarity with MTSS frameworks and trauma-informed interventions
  • Skilled at collaborating with teachers, families, and educational teams
  • Comfort participating in IEP and Section 504 meetings
  • Crisis response and safety planning experience is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and small-group counseling tailored to student needs
  • Complete psychoeducational and functional behavioral assessments (FBAs)
  • Collaborate in developing, implementing, and monitoring BIPs
  • Support MTSS implementation and consult on trauma-informed practices
  • Participate in IEP/504 meetings and interdisciplinary case discussions
  • Lead crisis response efforts and help create transition plans for student reintegration
