Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving as a School Psychologist for a high school-aged population in a vibrant educational setting near Canton, MI. This role provides the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of students across four distinct campuses, including an alternative high school. With a SPED population of approximately 110-120 students—many of whom are in the 17-18-year-old range—your expertise will be crucial in providing valuable support and intervention during an important transition in their education.

Your primary responsibility will be to assess, counsel, and advocate for high school students with diverse needs, ensuring they have every opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The position is full-time and primarily onsite, though a hybrid schedule may be available for particularly strong candidates.

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active School Psychologist certification and relevant state licensure
  • Substantial experience working with high school students, preferably with older adolescents
  • Strong background supporting students with IEPs and knowledge of SPED best practices
  • Excellent assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention skills
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to inclusive educational environments

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological and educational assessments for high school students
  • Interpret testing and write comprehensive evaluation reports
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and SPED teams to develop individualized plans
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to intervention strategies
  • Provide counseling, behavioral support, and crisis response as needed
  • Support transitions for students between school settings or post-graduation pathways
