This full-time contract opportunity offers a split assignment: spend most of your week working with preschoolers and kindergarteners at the Early Childhood Center, and dedicate time to a focused elementary program serving students with autism and developmental disabilities (grades K-5, three classrooms). This structure provides variety, professional growth, and the chance to collaborate with a range of dedicated educators.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement
- Experience or strong interest in early childhood education
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorder and effective interventions
- Knowledge of special education procedures, IEP/504 processes, and developmental evaluations
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive educational environments
Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and write comprehensive reports
- Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings, effectively communicating assessment results and recommendations
- Consult with teachers, therapists, and families to develop and monitor individualized interventions
- Support student progress through data-driven recommendations and behavioral strategies
- Engage in collaboration across early childhood and specialized elementary teams
- Provide crisis intervention and social-emotional support as needed
