School Psychologist | Juvenile Detention Center
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced School Psychologist to support students within a maximum-security juvenile detention facility. This role is primarily counseling-focused with some assessment responsibilities.
Position Details:
- Start: ASAP
- Setting: Onsite at a maximum-security juvenile detention center (with security present)
- Schedule: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling services to detained youth
- Conduct psychological assessments as needed
- Apply trauma-informed care practices in all interactions
- Support student emotional regulation, coping skills, and behavioral stabilization
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment and educational planning
- Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with facility staff and educators
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong background in trauma-informed care
- Calm, compassionate, and non-threatening presence
- Experience working with high-need or justice-involved youth strongly preferred
- Comfortable in a secure, structured environment
Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist license/credential
- Experience in counseling-heavy or alternative education settings preferred
