A dynamic opportunity is available for a dedicated School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services in a K-12 school setting in Suffolk, VA. This contract position spans the current school year, offering valuable hands-on experience across multiple school levels. The role involves supporting students, educators, and families by conducting assessments, attending multidisciplinary team meetings, and developing individualized strategies to enhance student success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting psychological assessments and evaluations with a focus on student needs.
  • Covering meetings in two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school throughout the week.
  • Dedicating Fridays to completing assessments and writing detailed reports.
  • Collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to create effective intervention plans.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with state guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in School Psychology.
  • Experience working in K-12 school settings preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple school buildings.
  • Commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students and promoting their academic and emotional well-being.

Location:

  • Onsite role based in Suffolk, VA, serving multiple schools including two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.
