Make a meaningful impact every day as an onsite school psychologist working within a dynamic and supportive educational community near Chesapeake, VA. In this contract role, you’ll provide vital psychological services and advocacy for students, collaborating with staff across multiple school levels. Your week will be spent making a difference in a new setting each day—two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school—while enjoying Fridays focused on assessments and reporting tasks.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in School Psychology
  • Experience practicing as a school psychologist, preferably working with diverse student populations
  • Strong knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and multidisciplinary team collaboration
  • Articulate communicator with the ability to connect effectively with students, families, and school staff
  • Excellent time management and organizational proficiency, able to adapt to different school environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct student assessments and psychoeducational evaluations, including report writing and recommendations
  • Attend and contribute to meetings across multiple buildings, serving as a trusted resource for students and educators alike
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to promote safe, supportive learning environments
  • Support positive behavioral interventions, crisis intervention, and emotional wellness initiatives
  • Maintain detailed and confidential student records according to state and district guidelines
