School Psychologist - Chesapeake, Virginia

Bring your expertise as a School Psychologist to a welcoming educational environment in the Virginia Beach area! This full-time, on-site contract opportunity (Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week) begins August 31, 2026, and runs through June 15, 2027. You'll work directly with students (age groups and caseload details to be determined), providing essential support to empower their academic and social-emotional growth. Unlike virtual or hybrid roles, this position values in-person engagement with students and staff throughout the district.

Qualifications:

• Valid Virginia Department of Education licensure as a School Psychologist
• Active Psychologist license in the State of Virginia
• Previous experience in a K-12 school setting strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• Adept at assessment, intervention, and consultation services within educational settings

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and provide clear, actionable reports
• Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to design interventions and monitor student progress
• Support the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans
• Offer crisis intervention and consultation for academic, behavioral, and mental health concerns
• Deliver individual and group counseling services as needed
• Assist with data collection and analysis to inform special education eligibility decisions
