A School Psychologist opportunity is available to support student well-being and academic success in a school setting located in Chula Vista, CA. This role involves working directly with students, educators, and families to conduct assessments, develop interventions, and provide counseling services, ensuring a positive and supportive educational environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting psychological evaluations and interpreting assessment results to identify student needs.
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies.
- Providing counseling and crisis intervention to students facing emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges.
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and adjust support plans accordingly.
- Assisting with the development of school-wide programs focused on mental health and wellness.
- Traveling between multiple school sites as required to provide services.
Desired qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
- Valid certification or license to practice as a School Psychologist in California.
- Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and creating comprehensive reports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff.
- Ability to manage caseloads independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with California special education laws and procedures.
- Flexibility to travel between locations within the district.
