Immerse yourself in a dynamic school setting as a full-time School Psychologist, making a direct impact on the lives of students from Pre-K through 8th grade. This contract position offers an engaging work environment within a single-school district of approximately 700 students, providing the opportunity to collaborate closely with educational teams and families. The schedule runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, resulting in about 32.5 paid hours per week. All services are delivered on-site, fostering hands-on connections with students and staff.

Qualifications and Experience Desired:

  • Holds a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist Endorsement
  • Demonstrated experience with play-based assessment, especially with younger students
  • Proficiency in conducting evaluations that utilize diverse methods beyond standardized psychoeducational batteries
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, administrators, and families
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage case loads and maintain thorough records

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational assessments, with a focus on innovative and play-based approaches
  • Interpret assessment results and consult with staff on effective interventions and supports
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop and implement IEPs and 504 plans
  • Provide counseling, behavioral interventions, and skill-building sessions for individual students and small groups
  • Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and school-wide mental health initiatives
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to promote student success and well-being
