Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (MA, MS, or MEd) in School Psychology or related field
  • Certification as a School Psychologist (or eligible for certification)
  • Three years’ experience working across all student age groups is preferred
  • Strong diagnostic, evaluative, and counseling abilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for students, preparing clear, timely reports
  • Meet with parents to discuss assessment results and offer guidance
  • Observe students in classroom settings to inform evaluations
  • Administer additional assessments, including those for incoming kindergarteners
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for staff on student diagnoses and learning strategies
  • Participate as a valued member in CSE, CPSE, and 504 committee meetings
  • Review outside psycho-educational evaluations and integrate findings
  • Provide short-term counseling (individual or small group) as needed
  • Respond promptly to student crises and offer consultation to colleagues during emergencies
  • Refer students and families to local or regional support agencies as necessary
  • Always ensure the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Foster positive, collaborative working relationships within the district
