Make a meaningful impact across multiple school sites by providing vital psychological services to students in grades K-12. This part-time (29 hours/week) contract position is open to a hybrid schedule, though on-site presence is required, and begins with a couple of paid professional development days in late July before the school year starts. You’ll partner with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team to ensure students receive comprehensive support throughout the academic year.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting psychoeducational assessments to identify students’ educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
- Preparing timely, thorough, and IDEA-compliant written evaluation reports.
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, families, and special education staff to interpret assessment results and plan interventions.
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress, eligibility, and placement.
- Establishing and maintaining regular communication with school personnel regarding assessment strategies and student support.
- Providing direct information, referral services, and support to students and their families.
- Maintaining complete and organized case records and forms for program accountability.
- Explaining the assessment process to parents and staff to support understanding and engagement.
- Participating in professional development and in-service trainings.
Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana DOE certification in School Psychology (required).
- Working knowledge of special education eligibility, IDEA compliance, and psychoeducational evaluation.
- Clear, professional communication skills—bilingual abilities are highly valued.
- Proven ability to write comprehensive, data-driven evaluation reports and meet evaluation timelines.
- Team-oriented mindset with experience collaborating with educators and related service providers.
- Must pass a district background check and fingerprinting.
