Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing vital psychological services for an engaging school contract role based near Des Plaines, IL. This full-time position runs from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with standard Monday through Friday hours. Two school psychologist opportunities are available: one focusing on early childhood (0.6 FTE, three days per week, traveling between area preschools) and another supporting elementary grades K-4 (1.0 FTE, five days per week).
What we're seeking:
- Current Illinois state license as a School Psychologist
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience conducting student evaluations, re-evaluation reviews, and functional behavioral assessments
- Knowledge of special education law and best practices for early childhood and/or K-4 evaluations
- Flexibility to travel between multiple locations as needed for the early childhood assignment
- Ability to facilitate meetings with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams for IEP and MTSS data review
- Commitment to clear, compassionate support for families—especially those new to special education processes
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and re-evaluations, eligibility meetings, and functional behavioral assessments for a varied caseload spanning elementary, middle, and high school students
- For the early childhood role, assess and screen children turning three, those exiting early intervention, and preschoolers referred for evaluation
- For the K-4 role, lead team meetings, support MTSS problem-solving, and guide teams through the IEP development and review process
- Collaborate with general education and special education staff to ensure alignment with student needs and legal requirements
