Key Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois School Psychologist license required
  • Experience or strong knowledge in conducting re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, and functional behavioral assessments
  • Understanding of special education law and best practices, especially in early childhood and K-4 settings
  • Excellent communication skills for clear interactions with families, educational partners, and team members
  • Flexibility to travel between preschool locations as needed (for early childhood role)
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, positive educational experiences

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in re-evaluation review and eligibility meetings for students across multiple school levels
  • Conduct initial and functional behavioral assessments, adapting to the needs of both early childhood and K-4 students
  • For early childhood: Facilitate screenings and evaluations for children transitioning from early intervention and respond to evaluation requests for ages 3–5; Maintain communication with families new to the special education process and collaborate with general education and special education teams
  • For K-4: Evaluate students, facilitate MTSS data team meetings, support IEP processes, and actively participate in initial and re-evaluation meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant special education laws and district policies
