Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for licensed School Psychologists in Illinois and make a lasting difference in the lives of students across elementary, middle, and high school settings. This full-time assignment runs from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, and offers the chance to work with diverse caseloads and age groups.

The primary focus for these roles will be on conducting re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, functional behavioral assessments, and some initial evaluations. Two specific openings are available:

  • Early Childhood School Psychologist (0.6 FTE, three days/week): You’ll support children ages 3-5, screening and evaluating those transitioning from early intervention while traveling between three preschools. Strong communication skills are needed to engage families new to special education, as well as preschool partners and special education teams. Attendance at IEP meetings and a firm understanding of special education law and early childhood evaluation best practices are essential.
  • School Psychologist for Grades K-4 (1.0 FTE, five days/week): Evaluate students in elementary grades, facilitate MTSS data team meetings, and support IEP processes and problem-solving initiatives. Clear and consistent family communication, IEP meeting attendance, and expertise in special education law are highly valued.

Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Valid Illinois School Psychologist licensure required
  • Experience assessing and evaluating students across age groups (early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school)
  • Familiarity with special education law and best practices
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable collaborating across educational teams and with families
  • Ability to travel locally between assignment sites (for early childhood focus)
