Make a meaningful impact supporting students from early childhood through 8th grade as a school psychologist for a full academic year. This contract role provides the opportunity to work across two welcoming communities, splitting your time between ECAT evaluations and meetings in one district and serving as a traditional school psychologist in another. The workday runs from 8:00am to 3:30pm, with a guaranteed 7.5-hour day that includes time for lunch.
What you’ll bring:
- Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist
- Previous experience working with students from early childhood through middle school (EC – 8th grade) is highly desirable
- Knowledge of the ECAT (Early Childhood Assessment Team) evaluation process
- Comfort balancing a split schedule between locations and responsibilities
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to liaise with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to develop, interpret, and implement individualized educational and behavioral plans
Primary responsibilities:
- Complete ECAT evaluations, providing comprehensive assessments and supporting team meetings for early childhood students
- Serve grades EC–8th as a school psychologist, implementing interventions, conducting assessments, and supporting individualized education plan (IEP) teams
- Collaborate closely with educators, service providers, and parents to promote positive student outcomes
- Offer consultation and recommendations regarding student learning, social-emotional well-being, and behavioral supports
- Maintain timely, thorough documentation and records in accordance with district standards
- Work seamlessly between Vernon Hills and Lake Villa, ensuring high-quality psychological services in both communities
