School Psychologist | Des Plaines, Illinois

The opportunity spans two locations within the greater Des Plaines, IL area, supporting a diverse caseload of sixty students across elementary and middle school levels.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or higher in Psychology or Educational Psychology is required
• Active and valid State/District Licensure/Certificate for School Psychology (in Illinois: PEL with School Psychologist Endorsement)
• At least 2 years of previous school-based experience
• Deep commitment to fostering educational access and social-emotional growth
• Demonstrated proficiency in upholding core values and promoting student success
• Familiarity with compliance related to special education, 504, and MTSS requirements

Responsibilities:

• Assess, identify, and support students with academic or social-emotional needs impacting their learning or relationships
• Actively participate in school-based teams (SPED, 504, MTSS), screenings, and evaluations to address diverse learner requirements
• Lead interventions and monitor progress for Tier 3 students within the MTSS framework
• Prepare formal documentation, maintain accurate records, and respect confidentiality
• Consult and collaborate with stakeholders, including parents, staff, and external agencies, always communicating professionally and promptly
• Provide current, research-based knowledge on child development and learning disorders; offer professional development to peers as needed
• Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local guidelines
• Consistently attend and contribute to meetings at the school and network level, acting as a liaison and expert on child development topics
