Step into an impactful, short-term opportunity supporting high school students as a School Psychologist in a dynamic educational environment near Des Plaines, IL. This full-time, contract position provides coverage for a maternity leave from August 10th through September 30th. You’ll collaborate closely with educators, families, and support staff to foster student well-being and academic success across a manageable caseload of 14–25 high school students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in School Psychology from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Psychologist
  • Experience working with high school-aged students in an educational or clinical setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IEP processes, psychoeducational assessments, and best practices in mental health support
  • Excellent interpersonal skills—able to build rapport with students, teachers, and families
  • Ability to document student progress, maintain confidentiality, and provide clear communication

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations, including psychoeducational assessments, for high school students
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise to the development and review of goals and interventions
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide consultation on behavior management and academic supports
  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions as needed
  • Engage with families to communicate assessment findings, recommendations, and resources
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with school and regulatory guidelines
