Make a meaningful impact on student success and well-being by serving as a School Psychologist for an onsite, full-time contract opportunity in an elementary school setting near Detroit, MI. Work across four elementary schools and play a crucial role in supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development throughout the remainder of the school year and extended school year (ESY). In addition, your expertise will provide valuable guidance and mentorship to an intern, fostering growth in the field.
Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification/license for the state of Michigan
- Experience working in elementary school environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of assessment tools, special education law, and IEP process
- Excellent skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving
- Ability to effectively support and mentor an intern psychologist
- Available to start as soon as possible and commit through ESY
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive psychological services including assessments, counseling, and interventions for elementary students
- Travel between four onsite elementary schools as required by weekly schedule
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and 504 plans
- Provide crisis intervention and behavioral consultation
- Support and guide a school psychology intern, offering feedback and professional development
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with school and district policies
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams focused on student progress
