A full-time, contract opportunity is available for a School Psychologist serving K-12 students in Detroit, MI. This position spans the entire school year and offers the chance to support student mental health, academic achievement, and social-emotional development in a dynamic educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administration to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students
- Analyze data to inform instructional support and intervention strategies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and assist in developing behavior management plans
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification or licensure for Michigan
- Experience working within K-12 educational settings
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and educational laws (IDEA, ADA)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to manage caseloads and prioritize responsibilities efficiently
- Commitment to supporting student growth and wellbeing
