School Psychologist in Detroit, MI

Make a meaningful impact supporting student well-being by providing psychological services in a collaborative school environment near Detroit, MI for the 2026–2027 academic year (August 25, 2026–June 11, 2027). This contract opportunity is for two school psychologists passionate about fostering positive educational experiences and promoting mental health across elementary, middle, and high school settings.

In this role, you'll engage in more than just assessments—you'll contribute actively to intervention planning, consultation, and broader schoolwide initiatives that go beyond testing. Work on-site in 1–2 assigned buildings within a supportive district, sharing responsibilities across a total of five buildings covered by three full-time psychologists.

Desired Qualifications:

• Michigan School Psychologist Certification, or willingness to secure MI licensure promptly upon offer (open to qualified travelers)
• Prior experience working in a K–12 school environment is highly valued
• Proficiency in student assessments, consultation, intervention strategies, and data-driven decision making
• Effective communicator who thrives in collaborative, team-based settings
• Demonstrated commitment to advocating for diverse student needs
• Flexible and adaptive, ready to embrace schoolwide initiatives and varying caseloads

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct multidisciplinary psychoeducational evaluations for special education eligibility and student planning
• Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to design and implement targeted interventions
• Provide counseling and crisis response as required
• Participate in building-level projects and school improvement initiatives
• Consult and provide direct support not limited to testing, but also focusing on preventative strategies and social-emotional learning
