Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a School Psychologist serving students in the vibrant Washington DC metropolitan area, just 45 minutes south of the city. This full-time position spans from August 3, 2026, to May 26, 2027, with a consistent Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 3:30 PM), totaling 37.5 hours per week. You’ll partner with two schools: one elementary and one middle, engaging in impactful work with a diverse group of young learners.

Your role focuses on assessment, consultation, FBA/BIP support, and occasionally contributing to MTSS efforts. Academic achievement testing is handled by Educational Diagnosticians in each building, so you can concentrate on specialized psychological services. There is also potential to collaborate with social workers for counseling support, though this is not a primary responsibility.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current, active Virginia Department of Education certification
  • Valid Virginia Psychologist licensure
  • Experience with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
  • Comfortable working across elementary and middle school populations
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychoeducational evaluations and comprehensive consultation
  • Support development and implementation of FBA/BIP
  • Occasionally assist with counseling or MTSS services as needed
  • Maintain compliance with required documentation and reporting standards
