Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid School Psychologist credential or certification, or eligibility for certification
- Master’s or higher degree in School Psychology or a related field
- Experience performing comprehensive student assessments and writing detailed reports
- Confidence working collaboratively with educators, parents, and support staff
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, IEP processes, and current special education regulations
- Compassionate listening skills and a student-focused approach to intervention
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Previous experience in school settings preferred; new graduates with strong practicum/ internship experience are encouraged to apply
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations for referred students to determine learning needs and eligibility for special services
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing guidance on goal development and appropriate classroom strategies
- Offer direct counseling, social-emotional support, crisis intervention, and skill-building sessions to students
- Collaborate with teachers and families to implement effective behavior management and academic strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely completion of reports required by the district and state
- Support the development of a positive and inclusive school culture through professional consultation and staff training
