Make a difference in the lives of young students by providing invaluable support across two unique educational settings for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This full-time contract opportunity balances your expertise between an Early Childhood Center serving preschool and kindergarten students and a specialized elementary program tailored for learners with autism and developmental disabilities (grades K-5). In this role, you’ll split your time with 3.5 days per week at the Early Childhood Center and 1.5 days per week supporting a tight-knit group of classrooms within the specialized program.

Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist Endorsement required
  • Experience or strong interest in supporting preschool, kindergarten, and elementary-aged students
  • Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities strongly preferred
  • Skillful in evaluating and supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
  • Collaborative approach, comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for early childhood and elementary-age students
  • Collaborate with educators and families to develop individualized educational and behavioral plans
  • Provide direct and consultative support to students with autism and developmental disabilities
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and data-driven decision-making
  • Support positive behavior interventions and evidence-based strategies within classroom settings
  • Help facilitate transitions and inclusion opportunities as appropriate
