Discover a rewarding contract opportunity in the greater Elgin, IL area, supporting both early learners and students with specialized needs as a school psychologist. This full-time position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique split assignment—spend 3.5 days each week at an Early Childhood Center assisting preschool and kindergarten children, and 1.5 days with a specialized elementary program tailored for K-5 students with autism and developmental disabilities (across three classrooms). Your expertise will make a direct impact on students' educational and developmental journeys.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement required
- Master’s or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology
- Experience with early childhood populations and/or students with autism or developmental disabilities preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to conduct psychoeducational evaluations, participate in IEP meetings, and provide consultative support to educators and families
- Familiarity with supporting both general education and special education settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and interpret assessments for cognitive, social-emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and specialists to design effective interventions
- Support the development and implementation of IEPs, and participate in eligibility meetings
- Consult with families, provide resources, and offer guidance on child development
- Contribute to creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments across both assigned settings
